Hey y'all! My name is Britt Thomas. I am a certified spray tan artist serving up glowing, in home and mobile tans in the Hampton Roads area. I took my training and product selection seriously and will only be using the best, organic, gluten free, fragrance free products. My in home studio is located in Newport News, VA. I am also able to bring the glow to you! Mobile tanning allows me to bring equipment to your home for added convenience. My priority is your comfort and building a lasting, trusting relationship. I first fell in love with spray tanning after my love for tattoos. UV rays damage your skin and your ink all at once. I soon discovered spray tans not only protected me from harmful, damaging rays, but also conceal stretch marks, cellulite, spider veins, uneven skin tones, and give you instant results. You are guaranteed a confidence boost with bronzed, glowing skin! My tans are customized for your skin tone and desired result. I can mimic natural sun kissed spots, avoid tan lines, accentuate features, and eliminate orange tones. With proper prep and care, your tan can last 7-10 days.

 Day before your appointment:  Shower, shave, exfoliate your skin really well. A loofah, body mitt or dry brushing is best. Then moisturize your skin everywhere. This allows you to remove any dead skin that could cause your tan to come off quicker or fade unevenly.   

 Day of appointment: Shower normally but don't put any lotions, deodorants, makeup or perfumes on.  Avoid using bar soap because it can leave a film on your skin. This allows the solution to absorb evenly without anything blocking it from setting in. Bring loose dark clothing to wear after your tan. There is a bronzer in the solution so you will get an instant tan but it will wash off after your first shower. If you will be sleeping in your tan its recommended to put down old or dark sheets because the initial color can rub off a little bit but will wash out completely.  

 After your tanning session, you'll want to wait at least 8 hours for Regular tan and 1-4 hours for Rapid tan before showering, swimming, exercising or any activity that may disrupt the tanning process. First shower should only be a lukewarm, quick rinse. No soap or shampoo. The key to your tan lasting as long as possible is keeping your skin well moisturized after your first shower. Body butters and good rich lotions are perfect. Stay away from pure oils though. As they are great for your skin, not while you have your tan. Oil can break down the tan.  If you will be going in a chlorinated pool its best to moisturize your skin before you go in. This will act as a barrier and help block the chlorine from penetrating your tan. Always pat dry after showers and pool activity. Your skin gets soft after being in water and you don't want to rub your tan off. Pat dry gently then moisturize! 

My priority is your comfort. You may choose to be topless, naked to avoid tan lines, wear a bathing suit or wear the disposable thong provided. During your tan, the cosmetic bronzer could transfer to clothing but will wash out. Bring loose, dark clothing.

 It is important to avoid sweating, or any water until you are able to shower. This serves as a coupon to get out of washing dishes, bathing the kids, or getting kisses from your dog! We will discuss when you can shower after we customize your tan together. For regular tan, shower between 6-8 hours after. Rapid tan can shower after 1-4 hours. Use only lukewarm water with no soap for first shower. No shampoo, no loofa, no shaving. This is just a quick rinse. The cosmetic bronzer may rinse off but do not panic! The DHA in the tan solution will continue to bronze you for 24 hours. Your tan should last between 7-10 days with good care!

 The magic is in the DHA! Not a chemist? Me either, but this stuff is pretty cool. DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient in sunless tanners. It is a non-toxic sugar that is approved by the FDA. DHA penetrates the top layer of skin only. The color reaction takes 24 hours to fully develop. Baby your skin during this time. It will naturally fade as dead skin falls off. To keep a healthy glowing tan, a spray a week is optimal!
